Old Poway Park Entertainment Application

  1. Entertainment Guidelines

    All entertainers participating in Old Poway Park’s events must adhere to the following guidelines.

    Theme Adherence:

    • All performers and entertainers must align their performance with the official theme of the event.
    • Costumes, music selections, stage presence, and overall presentation should reflect and support the event theme.

    Family-Friendly Content:

    • All music and performances must be appropriate for a family audience.
    • No explicit language or inappropriate material is permitted.

    Performance Demo Requirement:

    • Entertainers must submit a demo or link to their website for staff to review.
    • Demos may include video links, audio recordings, or live performance footage.
    • Submissions must accurately represent the style and content that will be performed at the event.

    Genre Disclosure:

    • Entertainers must clearly identify their genre of music or performance style when applying.
    • Any changes to genre or performance type must be approved in advance.

    Professional Conduct:

    • Entertainers are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully toward staff, volunteers, vendors, and guests.
    • Disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

    Set-Up & Equipment:

    • Performers must provide their own instruments, props, and specialty equipment unless otherwise arranged in advance.
    • Technical needs (power requirements, sound equipment, microphones, etc.) must be communicated prior to the event.

    Sound Levels:

    • Depending on event, sound is provided. Staff will reach out with event details after application approval. 
    • Volume levels must remain appropriate for a public park setting and comply with city regulations.
    • Event staff may request volume adjustments at any time.

    Performance Schedule:

    • Entertainers must arrive on time and be prepared to perform during their assigned time slot. If chosen, staff will coordinate all event information with you.
    • Performances must not exceed scheduled time.

    Termination Clause:

    • The City of Poway reserves the right to remove any entertainer at any point throughout the application process or event who does not follow these guidelines or for any other necessary reason.

  3. Please provide a description of music genre or what act you put on (i.e., hypnotist or magic show).

  4. Fine Print*

    Applicant, for myself and the above group and all members and employees thereof, hereby waives any and all rights to make a claim for any loss or damage that may hereafter accrue against the City of Poway, members of its City Council, its officials, employees and agents, arising out of the use of City property pursuant to this application by reason of negligence or otherwise; and further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City and said persons for any loss to the City of Poway and the aforesaid persons as result of liability for bodily injury or property damage arising out of the use of said property pursuant to this application by reason of negligence or otherwise. I fully understand that my participation in the above event exposes me to the risk of personal injury, death, communicable diseases, illnesses, viruses (specifically including but not limited to COVID-19), or property damage. I hereby acknowledge that participation in these events is voluntary and agree to assume any such risks on behalf of myself, employees, volunteers, agents, my heirs, and personal representatives. I have read and I understand all rules, regulations and policies of the City of Poway Community Services Department and I will be responsible for all liability arising out of the participation in this event.

  5. By submitting this application, you agree to abide by all the rules and regulations set forth by the City of Poway for all events and programming at Old Poway Park. I understand application does not guarantee a spot. Staff will reach out to verify attendance.
