The City Attorney is appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, the City Council. The City of Poway, represented by the City Council, is the City Attorney’s
client.

However, there are many organizations in San Diego County that are helpful to citizens seeking legal representation or answers to legal questions. Some provide services at no cost or low cost. Municipal Code violations include building codes and zoning codes, and neighborhood nuisances such as noise, trash, weeds, and vehicles parked on lawns. Municipal Code violations can be reported to the Poway Code Compliance.City Attorney
