The Land Development Engineering Division assists project proponents and their design professionals through engineering plan review to ensure compliance with State requirements and local standards including the Poway Municipal Code. City staff also work with applicants to minimize construction-related disruptions to neighborhoods and businesses. Additionally, the Land Development team issues Grading Permits and processes Floodplain Development Permits.
Inspection & Construction
The Engineering Inspection Division is responsible for the inspection of all construction projects, erosion control onsite, and managing Right-of-Way Permits.
An Engineering Inspector will be assigned to all projects involving grading or improvement of the public right of way. For example, when installing a pool an Engineering Inspector will visit the site to ensure the dirt and erosion control are handled correctly before a building inspection can be requested.
As-Built/Record Drawings
Requests for as-builts or record engineering drawings can be submitted via email. Please allow a minimum of three business days for response.
