A red curb is a universal sign for no stopping or parking, but did you know that on public streets only the city can determine if a curb can be painted red?
Residents and businesses sometimes make the mistake of painting a portion (or all) of the curb in front of their home or workplace red. If it’s a city street, the curb is city property and the home or business owner will be billed for the cost to repaint the curb.
If you have a concern, and would like the City to consider a red curb request, contact the City’s traffic engineer or fill out a request online to have the situation evaluated.
