Poway is known for celebrating Halloween in a distinctly different way, but festivities this year at Old Poway Park are more fa-boo-lous than ever!
The popular Once Upon a Hallowe’en returns on Saturday, Oct. 26. Although it officially starts at 4:30 p.m., arrive early to check in for the park’s first ever Halloween Costume Parade. The eerie-sistable procession will wind its way through the park and end at the gazebo to officially open the event.
Calling all dead-icated crafters! You are invited to show off your pumpkin carving and/or pumpkin painting skills with the return of our pumpkin contest (see details below). Pumpkins will be on display throughout the evening in carriage turn (fountain) at the center of the park.
Once Upon a Hallowe’en has all the entertainment and fun of years past, plus a few new terror-ific treats. Have a ghoul time meeting Jack Skellington and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas and trying out the new hay maze. Lift your spirits by hanging out with pygmy goats (courtesy of the Poway FFA club) and posing for pics in our pumpkin patch.
The event is free to attend. Ride aboard the Poway Midland Railroad and test your bravery in the Haunted House for a small fee.
On Sunday evening, join us on the lawn for a free showing of Hocus Pocus. If one scare isn't enough, stop by the Haunted House between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. where volunteers are ready to "creep it real" through Wednesday.
Treat Yourself to Fun!
Test your bravery in the Haunted House, try your skills at haunted carnival games, ride aboard the Poway Midland Railroad, join our Halloween costume parade, and show off your creative side in our pumpkin decorating contest. 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Free to attend.
