Old Poway Park Action Committee & Volunteer Groups

The Old Poway Park Action Committee is a group of 11 non-profit, community organizations that are committed to bringing history to life. Groups depict California's heritage and pioneer life at the turn-of-the-20th century through song, dance, arts and crafts, community-wide events, program, and activities. Volunteers assist in event and program planning and help create a unique and special place for celebrating history!

Poway Woman's Club

The Poway Woman's Club is a non-profit service group organized in 1960. We are a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, International, which is the oldest women's service organization in the world established in 1890.

San Diego Folk Heritage

San Diego Folk Heritage's mission is to present and preserve the folk arts in San Diego County. They present concerts by San Diego-area performers and touring performers, and have Contra Dances with live music.

The Pomerado Community Band

The Pomerado Community Band (PCB) is comprised of approximately 70 members, primarily from the Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa and Poway areas of San Diego County, CA. It's purpose is to provide wind and percussion musicians an opportunity to perform and improve their musical skills, while encouraging a sense of community by performing at local events.

Poway Station Model Railroad Club

The Poway Station Model Railroad Club is an all scale modular railroad club, a group of people interested in The Worlds Greatest Hobby™, which is model railroading.

California Heritage Dancers

The California Heritage Dancers promote awareness of the artistic and historic value of square dancing, the folk dance which is truly American in origin. Further, to demonstrate through educational exhibitions and entertainment the unique place that square dancing holds in our American culture.

Poway-Midland Railroad Volunteers, Inc.

Poway-Midland Railroad Volunteers, Inc. was founded on February 13, 1991. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration, operation, and maintenance of antique railroad equipment in Old Poway Park.

Poway Historical and Memorial Society

The Poway Historical and Memorial Society are dedicated to preserving Poway's past for the future. They collect data and artifacts, preserve them, store and house them. They educate the community and provide a sense of community through history.

Poway Valley Garden Club

The Poway Valley Garden Club strives to promote interest in gardening and related creative activities, and to encourage improvements, beautification of our community and personal property. They maintain the rose garden at Lake Poway and the Nelson Garden at Old Poway Park.

Apache Canyon Gang

The Apache Canyon Gang is a group of local men and women that are out to keep the old west alive. Their costumes and weapons are authentic replica 1880-1910 era of the American West.

Poway Arts & Crafts Guild

The Poway Arts and Crafts Guild was founded in 1986 to promote the awareness of quality traditional crafts and craftsmanship in the local community, and to encourage, inform, and inspire both the beginning and the established professional crafts person by providing a forum for exchanging ideas and concerns.
