Poway, CA – The City of Poway and the Poway Arts and Crafts Guild are sponsoring the 17th Annual Boardwalk Craft Market in Old Poway Park, 14134 Midland Road. It will continue every Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. through December 19. The juried show and sale features contemporary artists who work in traditional arts and crafts.
Old Poway Park celebrates life in America at the turn of the 20th century, when the Arts and Crafts Movement inspired a handcraft revival influencing architecture, jewelry, fashion and home furnishings around the world. Artists that participate in the Boardwalk Craft Market are juried on a high standard of craftsmanship and create ‘beautiful and useful things’ relevant to today’s lifestyles.
The Boardwalk Craft Market takes place year-round, rain or shine, on the park’s roofed south boardwalk surrounding the Poway Historical Society’s Heritage Museum. There are different artists and demonstrations each Saturday.
Other Saturday morning “living history” activities at Old Poway Park include the Farmers Market from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the Poway-Midland Railroad’s steam engine and trolley operations from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information about the Boardwalk Craft Market call 858-486-3497.
